Gusang Kwon, Ph.D., is a neuroscientist at Amorepacific Research and Innovation Center. Amorepacific is one of the top cosmetic companies in the world. Gusang Kwon joined the R&I center at Amorepacific in 2016. He majored in Cognitive Neuroscience and holds a Ph.D. from the Samsung Advanced Institute for Health Sciences & Technology at SungKyunKwan University in Korea. He has expertise in various neuroscientific methods such as EEG, eye tracker, facial expression, and GSR. He has expanded his research in the field of neuromarketing and consumer neuroscience in the cosmetic industry. His main research interest in Amorepacific is to study consumer behavior and emotion estimation towards cosmetic products, such as fragrances and cosmetic creams. Recently, he developed a real-time emotion estimation application and EEG headset with more than three years of collaboration with imec. This year, using this technology, he won the innovation award at CES with a Mind-linked bathbot which is a solution that analyzes the feelings of a person using brain waves and creates a bath bomb of colors and fragrances reflecting the results of the analysis by a robot on the spot. His goal is to make customers feel beauty with multiple senses from innovative experiences combined with neuroscience technology.
