Virtual and Augmented Reality and Neurophysiological Tools
Thursday, September 29 - Main Stage
Academic research has the advantage of conducting controlled experiments, which can better isolate the variables under analysis. However, it does not mean that “controlled experiments” need to be far away from daily reality.
Aline Simonetti presents the Rhumbo project. Funded by the European Union’s Horizon Research and Innovation Programme, it proposes using “measures of subconscious brain processes through the use of mixed reality technologies and advanced biometric signals processing''. This could function as a new way to discover what effect implicit brain processes have on human decision-making.
This simply means that money is being invested in academic research to understand how consumers behave—consciously and unconsciously—in our technological world. And the outcome of this investment is coming!
The presentation will be framed in a non-technical format.
What the audience can learn:
- Which type of research academia is doing to understand consumers
- What are the findings of recent research funded by the European Commission (Rhumbo project)
